NWSL Coming to Boston —

**Designed in collaboration with Tov Creative

The founders of the new NWSL team that is coming to Boston in 2026 were in need of a preliminary logo for the announcement of the league's coming arrival to the Boston area. This logo served as a place holder for the team until they landed on an official team name. So we faced the big challenge of no set mascot or name to work with for this preliminary announcement crest, but we were able to come up with an authentic place holder solution. After thorough research,  we landed on a bold crest featuring one of Boston’s most iconic landmarks. This design boldly declares Boston's coming entry into the league and connection to the community.

Message from the Founders

THE LEADING LADIES

“The Zakim Bridge launch crest is a symbol of the commitment of NWSL Boston to be a connector of communities through sport and to cherish our home pitch in Franklin Park.

Sports teams at their heart are community-owned organizations. It’s our responsibility with the launch of our team to bring to our city of champions, not only another championship-caliber team but a team embedded in the fabric of our global and diverse city.

Leonard P. Zakim Bunker Hill Bridge

THE INSPIRATION

The Leonard P. Zakim Bunker Hill Bridge is named for Boston area civil rights activist Leonard Zakim, who championed "building bridges between peoples". Like its namesake, NWSL Boston is a welcoming and inclusive home for all.

The vibrant green on the crest is representative of the beauty of Franklin Park and its place as the crown jewel of Frederick Law Olmsted's Emerald Necklace park system.
